Lwa Cas13a + Tphi terminator

Cas13a is a CRISPR/Cas effector that specifically binds and digests RNA based on its crRNA sequence. After digestion of this target sequence, Cas13a undergoes conformation change and presents collateral activity, i.e. it indiscriminately digests RNA molecules.

The coding sequence is followed by Tphi terminator.

For characterization, see the full construct: BBa_K2323004. Sequence and Features

Plasmid composition

The Biobrick contains the Lwa coding sequence and the Tphi terminator.(read-only benchling map)

The sequence is taken from J. S. Gootenberg et al., Science 10.1126/science.aam9321 (2017)
