This gene is derived from A.thaliana and optimized for E.coli codon in reference to the codon usage. The protein(AHK4) is a receptor of iP(isopentenyl adenine: kind of cytokinin). Once iP received by AHK4, AHK4 induces histidine kinase phosphorylation in E.coli cell. Then, arbitrary promoter is activated by the phosphorylation.
Characterization
We tested the function of AHK4 protein that receives iP and induces histidine kinase phosphorylation in E.coli cell. Our objective was to characterize the function of AHK4 protein.
