Design Notes

The Enoyl-CoA hydratase DspI[1] is necessary to the production of 2-cis-decenenoic acid by Pseudomonas aeruginosa, so we search its DNA sequence in the genome to create our first biobrick. This enzyme gene is on a operon along the other gene crucial for the formation of 2-cis-decenenoic acid.

We took the gene coding for the right enzyme and optimized its sequence for a production in E.coli. Then a Rfc10 prefix and sufix was added.
