This devise is consisted of a HSP70A-RBCS2 promoter, Cry4Aa toxin, extended FMDV 2A peptides, a Cyt2 toxin and also a terminator. The HSP70A-RBCS2 promoter is a heat-induced promoter. Both Cry and Cyt are pore-froming toxins from Bacillus thuringiensis produced as parasporal crystal components. The synergism between the two toxins was observed against dipteran insects such as mosquitoes. It has been proved that the synergism can contribute to the suppression of resistance. The FMDV 2A peptides serves as a linker between a upstream protein and a downstream protein in order to co-express them in a single vector. The device we designed are all codon-optimized so that we can safely express the toxins via Chlamydomonas reinhardtii.

Cry4Aa+2A+Cyt2 expressed in C. reinhardtii
