Ferritin is an enzyme that captures iron ions in blood. It has been found that SDS molecules can bind between ferritin subunits. Results

iGEM Groningen 2015 did an experiment with this construct to confirm it's expression. In the picture below is the expression of the protein visible. When comparing the bands in the control and the IPTG induction groups, a clear expression of a protein the size of ferritin can be observed.
