Originally cloned and characterized by Jimenez et al. from Pseudmonas putida KT2240 [1].

Part Function:

The enzyme coded for by nicC converts 6-Hydroxynicitinoic acid (6-HNA) to 2,5-dihydroxypyridine (2,5-DHP).
