T18 domain of CyaA from Bordetella pertussis
This part codes for the T18 domain of the catalytic domain of the adenylate cyclase, CyaA, from Bordetella pertussis. When associated with the T25 domain of the catalytic domain of CyaA, the two domains together become active and catalyzes the conversion of ATP to cAMP. This rise in cAMP can in turn be used to trigger the expression of certain genes by using a cAMP-induced promoter.
