Geranyl diphosphate syntease (IspA)
Catalyses the formation of dimethylallyl diphophate + isopentenyl diphosphate to geranyl diphosphate. As this is an often rate-limiting step in production of isoprenoids, it can desirable to introduce additional copies of the gene to increase yield.
This part was cloned from the chromosome of a d5alpha e.coli with overhangs containing ribosome binding site B0034 and biobrick restriction site.
Results
We were unsuccessful in assembling any promoter to the construct, and as such could not further characterize the part.
