This part was cloned by the iGEM UniTN Trento 2013 team for the construction of Wintergreen Device BBa_K1065106.


Usage and Biology

BSMT1 catalyzes the conversion of salicylic acid to methyl salicylate, which has a wintergreen smell.

The arabinose inducible promoter BBa_K731201 was fully characterized by iGEM UniTN Trento 2012.
