MlrA is a transcriptional regulator of the curli operon in an avian pathogenic ''E. coli'' strain and in ''S. enterica subsp. serovar Typhimurium''. Its conserved sequence in ''E. coli K-12 substr. MG1655'' is expected to upregulate csgD expression and thus increase biofilm formation.
