Cytochrome A and X from Nitrosomonas europaea

Cytochrome A (c-554) and cytochrome X (Probable tetraheme cytochrome c-type) both from Nitrosomonas europaea.

The two cytochromes are involved in the process of transferring electrons from HAO to AMO in the following reactions:

NH₃ + H₂O + 2 cycAX_ox → NO₂^- + 2 cycAX_red + 5 H⁺

NH₃ + O₂ + cycAX_red → NH₂OH + NO₂O + cycAX_ox
