4S Desulfurization Pathway Optimization Circuit (PlacI/hpaC/RBS/katGLAA)

This part produces HpaC and KatG-LAA under control of an inducible lacI promoter.

KatG is a catalase, and serves to detoxify hydrogen peroxide. HpaC is an oxidoreductase capable of recycling FMN to FMNH2 while converting NADH to NAD. This part is used in conjuctions with the 4S desulfurization pathway to replace DszD. Doing so improves the rate of desulfurization 7-10x.
