LL 37 - Cathelicidin

The LL 37 cathelicidin is a human antimicrobial peptide. The antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) are present in all species investigated. They form an important part of innate immunity, protecting the organism from infection by directly killing invading bacteria.

It disrupts the bacteria membrane from outside and it is armless from inside. (Ulrich et al., 2006)

The eukaryotic toxin LL 37 was obtained by synthesis with the canonical prefix and suffix RFC10 compatible and it was optimized for E. coli expression.
