GalF, putative regulatory subunit for GalU
GalF is a predicted subunit of a GalU/GalF protein complex involved in colanic acid building blocks biosynthesis. While Glucose-1-phosphate uridylyltransferase(GalU), also referred to as UDP-glucose pyrophosphorylase or UGPase, catalyzes the formation of UDP-glucose from glucose-1-phosphate and UTP, the GalF is also essential for the formation and the function of the complex. The original GalF gene contains PstI restriction site. This part has already been point mutated (The T at 138bp was mutated to A).
