Ubc constitutive promoter
Usage and Biology
- "Weak" expression compared to CMV
- Constitutive (does not require induction)
The Ubiquitin C (Ubc) promoter drives expression at a level below that of the human phosphoglycerate kinase (HPK) promoter in mammalian cells. Expression of red fluorescent protein and cyan fluorescent protein are difficult to detect via microscopy, but can be measured at levels above background (non-fluorescent cells) via flow cytometry with some adjustment of instrument sensitivity.
