Design Notes
This part contains an oriT (origin of transfer) allowing interspecies plasmid transfer via conjugation processes, as well as a ori1600 sequence, which is a replication origin for Pseudomonas spp. When the plasmid containing this part is present in an E. coli strain containing the tra gene region, it is able to transfer the plasmid to another bacterial cell (including other species) by conjugation. Alternatively, the tra region (containing genes for transfer, such as pili formation genes, used in conjugation) can be supplied in the form of a helper strain, such as E. coli pRK2013.
