For our experimental group, cells containing the groE promoter that were not induced with heat showed less presence of red fluorescent protein than our cells containing the groE promoter that were induced by heat.  The groE promoter was successful in initiating transcription of the red fluorescent protein gene when induced by heat. However, the induced groE promoter did not work as well as the positive control promoter. To further investigate this promoter and how it works, the same experiment can be performed that incubates the cells containing groE at other temperatures.

1st bar- cells containing groE promoter incubated at 37 degrees Celsius. 2nd bar- cells containing groE promoter incubated at 40 degrees Celsius (heat induced) 3rd bar- negative control cells- no promoter present 4th bar- positive control cells containing pTet promoter (constitutive) 5th bar- cells containing pBad promoter incubated with arabinose (induced) 6th bar- cells containing pBad promoter incubated without arabinose (not induced)
