This part is one of team Amsterdam 2011's cold resistance BioBricks, also known as a CryoBrick. When transformed into E. coli, it should bestow a certain degree of cold resistance. It was placed under control of the Lac operon's promoter (pLacI: BBa_R0010) so that it may be expressed constitutively in LacI-null strains, or inducibly in LacI-capable strains. This promoter was taken from 2011's Spring Distribution Kit, as was the incorporated RBS. The coding regions of this Brick are new submissions to the registry, also submitted separately as BBa_K538000 (Cpn10) and BBa_K538001 (Cpn60). Functionally, this brick should be identical to BBa_K538210. Regardless, both bricks were created, so one could be used in case assembly of the other failed.
