We found this design very useful when assembling components that contain RFP, mCherry, etc. The assembled parts turn red and are not recognizable from the background insert(BBa_J04450) if all colonies becomes red after transformation. Luckily, very few genes produce things that turn blue/purple, which makes our construct extremely useful.

Design Notes

We found this design very useful when assembling components that contain RFP, mCherry, etc. The assembled parts turn red and are not recognizable from the background insert(BBa_J04450) if all colonies becomes red after transformation. Luckily, very few genes produce things that turn blue/purple, which makes our construct extremely useful.

B0014 instead of B0015 in order to avoid unwanted primer binding, etc. J23101 promoter to ensure strong and constitutive expression at all times.

Source

amilCP comes from the genome of Acropora millepora. All other parts are assembled from the iGEM 2011 distribution kit.
