Applications of BBa_I716211
10/27/10: This part induces cell death when expressed. We (the 2010 Harvard iGEM team) received this part from the Anderson lab at Berkeley as part of an arabinose-inducible Barnase device that also contained a constitutive Barstar. Barstar is another protein that prevents Barnase from killing the cell. In our experience Barstar is required to even be able to clone Barnase, because Barnase is so potent.
