VirA/G signaling system without read-out
This BioBrick is a VirA/G signaling system from Agrobacterium tumefaciens without read-out. It contains an unmutated virA gene and a virG gene that works without rpoA from A. tumefaciens and a vir promoter. In the presence of the inducer acetosyringone VirA phosphorylates VirG and this activates the vir promoter.
Parameters
Characterizations of this part were made with BBa_K389015 and BBa_K389016. Look at the description of these parts to get more detailed information about the VirA/G signaling system. In the following table, some important parameters of the VirA/G signaling system are summarized:
Parameter | Result |
---|---|
Input | Acetosyringone |
Output | PoPS |
Switch point | ~ 30 µM acetosyringone |
Fully induced | > 150 µM acetosyringone |
Increased expression when induced | > 2.2 fold (compared to uninduced system) |
Hill coefficient | positive cooperation (> 1) |
