SAHS 33020 is a heat-soluble protein in tardigrades that helps them survive tough conditions by forming a protective glass matrix during desiccation. It was tested by iGEM17_TUDelft in Secretory-abundant heat soluble protein 33020 (SAHS 33020).
Usage and Biology
We constructed SAHS 33020 into pRAP to endow E. coli with desiccation-resistant capability. And this composite part can cooperate with BBa_K4765113(ribozyme+T7_RBS+mtSSB+stem-loop) to increase the survival rate of E.coli under desiccation.
