Pyrroloquinoline Quinone Glucose Dehydrogenase

A.calcoaceticus derived PQQGDH is a dimeric enzyme which is recombinantly produced using E. coli as a host microorganism. It is responsible for oxidizing glucose into glucono-δ-lactone which is then hydrolyzed into gluconic acid. In PQQGDH holo form, it possesses the PQQ cofactor that gives its redox abilities. This enzyme has been most widely used for glucose-sensing applications. In our project, we present a new application of this enzyme in pyocyanin sensing for P. aeruginosa detection.
