Colanic acid producing gene with double terminator
RcsB (BBa_K200000) coupled to the double terminator (BBa_B0015).
RcsB overexpression turn on the RCS phosphorelay system. This results in the modulation of ~5% of the E.coli genome. One of the most notable effects of this is the production of the exopolysaccharide colanic acid.
The double terminator is the most commonly used terminator and is a combination of parts BBa_B0010 and BBa_B0012.
The double terminator allows the RcsB gene to be incorporated into a closed transcriptional unit.
