This composite part encodes for WWW peptide which binds to misfolded tau protein (BBa_K4165007) tagged with a GST tag (BBa_K4165070).
Usage and Biology
WWW is a synthetic peptide designed to bind to microtubule associated protein tau (MAPT) at the PHF motif which is reported to drive the accumulation of paired helical filaments form of tau resulting in tau aggregates related diseases which are mostly related to dementia. It is fused to GST tag for purification.
