Recognition sequence of the Tobacco Etch Virus (TEV) protease. This sequence is meant to be placed between a protein coding sequence and an isolation/purification tag (e.g. [[Part:BBa_K4361102]]). When a tagged protein ([[Part:BBa_K4361103]]) is expressed and subsequently exposed to the TEV protease, the tag is cleaved off of the protein to prevent the tag from affecting its functionality.

TEV protease cleavage site

Recognition sequence of the Tobacco Etch Virus (TEV) protease. This sequence is meant to be placed between a protein-coding sequence and a purification tag. TEV protease will digest the TEV site (ENLYFQ/G) from the protein to prevent the tag from affecting the protein activity.
