P-NH
Tau binding peptide targeting the PHF seed of Tau
Usage and Biology
P-NH peptide (NITMNSRRRRNH) is tested against PHF seed of tau (306VQIVYK311) which is found in different models of tau aggregates suggesting that it has a role in the aggregation. Findings of Gao et al, showed that P-NH can bind to PHF via van der Waal force and hydrogen bonds, it could inhibit tau hyperphosphorylation and aggregation when tested in vitro on N2a cells. In vivo, it could enhance AD mice cognitive ability.
