OpdA
Phosphotriesterase enzyme from Agrobacterium tumefaciens, which degrades organophosphates which are triesters of phosphoric acid. Unlike the previous OpdA part on the Registry BBa_K215090, this part also encodes the 17 amino acid long tail at the C-terminus of the enzyme which may be useful for construction of C-terminal fusion proteins using this part.
Usage and Biology
This part was of major importance in our project. The OpdA enzyme can degrade a wide range of organophosphates and since our project is aimed at building a filter to fight organophosphate pollution, we constructed an OpdA-SpyTag002 fusion protein to functionalize a microcrystalline cellulose sheet-based filter.
