Fre-L3
A soluble partner and cofactor supply for fusion enzyme.
Description
Fre is a flavin reductase that regenerates FADH2 and highly expressed as a soluble form in E. coli, L3 is a rigid linker commonly used for fusion enzymes. In our experiment, Fre-L3 is used as a N-terminal tag and cofactor supply with three halogenases (SttH, PyrH, RebH) as strategy to enhance the solubility of halogenases in vivo. Thus, the fusion enzymes could compatible with whole-cell reactions or metabolic engineering. It is necessary to increase their activity as well as the yield of target molecules.
