NSP4 secretion signal peptide
This part codes for a signal peptide, which can be fused to the N-terminus of a polypeptide in order to export the newly synthesised protein out of the cell.
Usage and Biology
The signal peptide 4 (NSP4) was selected because it should improve the secretion of a targeted protein. This peptide is part of the Sec-dependent secretion pathway which is the main secretion pathway in E.coli. This NSP4 peptide fused to the N-terminus of a recombinant protein promotes its translocation across the plasma membrane. This peptide was choosen by our team to enhance azurin export in our <E.coli Nissle 1917 strain.
