luxPR driven CaAP

CaAP(Calcium Absorption Peptide) regulated by the quorum-sensing promoter luxpR(HS100).

Usage and Biology

luxpR_CaAP is a composite part constructed to correlate the quorum-sensing module and the calcium absorption module of our project.The promoter luxpR is activated by the heterodimer of luxI and luxR. When the population of our bacteria is low,the amount of the heterodimer is not enough, thus the luxpR promoter cannot initiate expression of downstream genes.

When the population of bacteria reaches a certain level, the heterodimer triggers the luxpR promoter, so that our engineered probiotics will express and secrete CaAP and play a role in facilitating calcium absorption.
