In this construct, pabA (para-aminobenzoate synthetase component II) has been placed behind the strong promoter J23100 and the strong RBS B0034, and in front of the terminator B0015. Currently it is in the high copy plasmid pSB1AK3.


Usage and Biology

When measured using the Caltech iGEM [http://2008.igem.org/Team:Caltech/Protocols/PABA_HPLC_assay PABA HPLC protocol], K137055 in pSB1AK3 in DH10B produced 700ng/mL of PABA (vs. negligible production for DH10B without K137055).
