Anti-plasmodium peptide Thiostrepton
Isolation from Streptomyces.It has bacteriocidal activity and inhibits bacterial protein biosynthesis by acting on the elongation factor Tu (EF-Tu),especially Gram-positive bacterial.We use it to kill plasmodium.
The mechanism of killing Plasmodium is to Targete the 20S proteasome to repress their development.
