EPS-Depolymerase (Rfc25)

Putative tail fiber protein/putative EPS Depolymerase (DIBBI_029) is an enzyme of 852 amino acids from the phage vB_XveM_DIBBI which contains two functions, one structural and one pectin lyase. Xanthomonas is a close relative of Xylella fastidiosa.

This part was designed with the Freiburg (Rfc25) extension. Thus, it contains the restriction sites NgoMIV and AgeI that are compatible and allow the absence of a start and stop codon, which ease the assembly of multiple protein domains.

Usage and Biology

This enzyme has been created to disrupt the biofilm of X. fastidiosa, see our wiki for more information about [http://2017.igem.org/Team:Aix-Marseille/DEPS our biofilm part].
