Mambalgin-1 was expressed in Pichia pastoris and confirmed with colony PCR. Expression was shown with a western blot and coomassie stain. The coomassie stain resulted in a band near 9kDa, which was the expected band size. Additionally, further purification of the supernatant was not needed after initial centrifugation. Thus, protein expression of Mambalgin-1 in P. pastoris required a minimal amount of steps.
