LtrB Group II intron Front Segment
A Group II intron is a retro-homing element that can mediate the insertion of itself to a certain location of DNA. The Lactococcus lactis LtrB intron is a group II intron that can target the ligated-exon sequence of the L. lactis ltrB gene. The general structure of wildtype LtrB Group II intron is showed in Figure 1.
This part is the first segment of non-transcriptional RNA, from the beginning of the RNA transcript to the start codon of LtrB.
