This part was designed to test if "split" RFP still fluoresces.  We found that the color is markedly weaker.  However, IPTG induction for the pLac promoter makes the red color stronger (see photo).  It takes a day of incubation at room temperature for red color to develop.

This part was designed to test if "split" RFP still fluoresces. We found that the color is markedly weaker. However, IPTG induction for the pLac promoter makes the red color stronger (see photo). It takes a day of incubation at room temperature for red color to develop.
