This is the translational unit of 3-hexulose-6-phosphate synthase (Hps) from Bacillus methanolicus MGA3. It is codon optimized for E.coli.


Catalyzed reaction by Hps
Formaldehyde + Ribulose-5-phosphat → D-arabino-hex-3-ulose 6-phosphate.

Mdh, Hps and Phi expressed in a pSB1A30 backbone on SDS-PAGE after IPTG induction with a RFP expression strain as a negative control. All genes expressed in BL21 Gold (DE3), samples taken from 50 ml main culture in shake flasks after 6 h and 21 h after IPTG induction.
