In our construct we added the salt inducible PproHpromoter (BBa_K1597000) before ''bslA'' before integration in ''B. subtilis''. This strains was grown on Msgg medium with and without 0,5M NaCl for 24 hours. Images were taken with identical settings. The left image is without NaCl, where the right picture is with NaCl.

The blsA mutant grown on Msgg without NaCl (left image) showed no clear compared with wildtype phenotypes with the wildtype. However, when grown on 0,5M NaCl, ice crystal like structure were visible.
