B0034-ExpTag-Linker-Miraculin-Linker-6xHis
Construct needed to produce the protein miraculin, responsible for the taste-altering effects of the berries from the plant "Synsepalum Dulcificum".
This part is a synthetic construct, fitted with an export tag for transportation out of the cell, and a histidine tag (6x His) for purification purposes.
Applications
Miraculin can be used as a sweetener.
Characterization data from Uppsala iGEM 2013
We were not sucessful in either assembling or mutagenizing a promoter to the construct, and as such could not characterize it further.
Registry Curation
Original sequence changed by iGEM HQ, notified by Team [http://2015.igem.org/Team:UMaryland Umaryland 2015 Team] Change - "TAT" added to 5' end. Reason - To reflect sample sequence
