Applications of BBa_J45400

The production of isoamyl acetate was verified by controlled tests in which E. coli with J45220 or J45200 but no J45400 did not produce isoamyl acetate (that is, they did not give off banana scent), while E. coli containing both the J45220 or J45200 and J45400 did produce isoamyl acetate autonomously. The main application of this device is that when coupled with a banana-generating device (BGD), such as J45220 or J45200, the device can allow E. coli to synthesize isoamyl acetate endogenously.
