HAP1-VP16 Transcription Activator CDS
HAP1 transcription activator CDS. Binds to its UAS (upstream activation site) for activation of reporter expression in eukaryotes. This part has been codon optimized for plant expression.
Usage and Biology
HAP1 is a transcription activator which is active in many eukaryotes. It can be used to amplify sensitive inputs.
By using an enhancer trap with HAP1, lines can be produced with very specific expression patterns (for example, expression active in a particular tissue). Further circuits utilising reporters driven by the UAS then inherit expression patterns. For example uses, see the use of the alternative transcription activator GAL4:BBa_K1484102
