AsPink chromoprotein in GoldenGate standard
AsPink chromoprotein in MoClo standard.
Usage and Biology
Origin:
AsPink is a chromoprotein originating from the coral Anemonia sulcata, where it takes its name.
The protein has its maximum absorption at 572nm giving it a pink/purple colour visible to the naked eye. (visible wavelength: 390 to 700nm)
The nucleotide sequence shows significant homology with proteins of the GFP family suggesting a common ancestry.
Other names of asPink include: asCP and asFP595.
Expression:
The chromoprotein can be readily observed when expressed in E.coli in both LB or agar plate cultures within 24h of inoculation.
This protein has also been successfully expressed in Marchantia polymorpha, a plant chassis.
GoldenGate Standards:
This version of asPink is compatible with the GoldenGate standards as described in the 'design section' which allows more efficient assembly of parts. The protein structure or expression pattern is unchanged by this alteration which only affects the sequence before and after the CDS.
