DarR ORF with inversed Pre- and Suffix
This is the ORF of DarR (Ms5346). DarR is a HTH-transcription factor from Mycobacterium smegmatis, which can bind its specific binding sequence (the DarR operator BBa_K1045000).
In M. smegmatis, it was shown that the binding efficiency of DarR to the operator is enhanced by cyclic di-AMP. Upon association with c-di-AMP, DarR binds strongly to the operator shutting down transcription of the downstream gene. This way, transcription is controlled via c-di-AMP (Zhang et al., 2013).
