Cytochrome A and X from Nitrosomonas europaea
Cytochrome A (c-554) and cytochrome X (Probable tetraheme cytochrome c-type) both from Nitrosomonas europaea.
Usage and Biology
The two cytochromes are involved in the process of transferring electrons from HAO to AMO in the following reactions: NH3 + H2O + 2 cycAXox → N2 + cycAXred + 5 H
NH3 + O2 + cycAXred → NH2OH + NO2O + cycAXox
