<i>amdA</i> is an Amidase gene responsible for the removal of primary amine's from a variety of compounds.  We validated the ability of this gene to remove the primary amine group from benzamine.  This was evaluated through GC/MS analysis and detailed on our <a href="http://2012.igem.org/Team:Calgary/Notebook/Protocols/AmidaseAssay">protocol page</a>.  This is detailed in the figures below:
