PfadR regulated FadD
In Escherichia coli, after fatty acids being transported into the cell, to be degraded, they must be activated by the acyl-CoA synthetase-- FadD (BBa_K861010) to form CoA derivatives. Also, FadD is shown to be essential for fatty acids transportation. We assembled FadD with PfadR (BBa_K861060) hoping it will only be overexpressed when fatty acids concentration is high.
