This part does not give a very clean off an on. When using a LacZ reporter, the colonies look light blue on X-gal plates at 30'C. There are improved parts made by TAQ random mutagenesis that give a much better "off" (white on X-gal plates at 30'C). These parts are BBBa_K833000, BBa_K833001, BBa_K833002, BBa_K833003, BBa_K833004, BBa_K833005, BBa_K833006, BBa_K833007, BBa_K833008, BBa_K833009, BBa_K833010
