This part was designed by team Amsterdam 2011 to express the Cpn10 protein from Oleispira antarctica (BBa_K538000) under control of the Lac operon's promoter, pLacI (BBa_R0010). When coexpressed with Cpn60 (BBa_K538001), it should strongly increase E. colis ability to grow at low temperature. Coexpression can be achieved by transforming an E. coli strain comprising the BioBrick with a Cpn60 generator, such as K538201 and K538301, or by transforming cells with an operon-like BioBrick containing both the Cpn10 and Cpn60 coding regions, such as K538210, K538211, K538310 and K538311.

This part was designed by team Amsterdam 2011 to express the Cpn10 protein from Oleispira antarctica (BBa_K538000) under control of the Lac operon's promoter, pLacI (BBa_R0010). When coexpressed with Cpn60 (BBa_K538001), it should strongly increase E. coli's ability to grow at low temperature.

Refer to the main pages of the coding region parts (BBa_K538000 and BBa_K538001) for more information on how they facilitate cold resistance in E. coli.
