We tested the light emittion by this part depending on the addition of two aldehydes substrates: decanal and dodecanal. Our results show that E. coli transformed with this biobrick are unable to emit light when the decanal substrates are added, this can be due to an error in the promoter and/or in the LuxAB proteins.
